Our Story

How it all began...

Mountain Goodness first opened its doors in 2005 with a simple goal: to bring healthy, natural products to the families of Revelstoke. In 2019, Heather took the helm, carrying on the store’s original mission while enhancing its focus on sourcing with integrity, showcasing exceptional products and the people behind them, and committing to ongoing education and research so that Mountain Goodness can be a place where small, everyday choices create meaningful impact.

At Mountain Goodness, we believe that how we do anything is how we do everything, which is why we’re intentional and respectful in every interaction—whether it’s with our customers, suppliers, or fellow team members. We hold ourselves accountable for our actions and always strive to communicate transparently and with consideration.

Education is a cornerstone of Mountain Goodness. We dive deep into every product on our shelves, ensuring that it meets our high standards for quality and sustainability. We’re constantly learning, asking questions, and improving our processes to serve you better.

Stewardship guides our approach to both people and the planet. We prioritize people over profits, sourcing products that reflect our values of integrity and quality. If something doesn’t align with our standards, we won’t sell it—because we believe in only offering the best for our community and making choices that respect the land we all share.

Finally, connection is what makes Mountain Goodness more than just a store. We take the time to check in with our customers, listen to their needs, and create a space where everyone feels supported and safe. Together, we’re building something greater than the sum of its parts—a store that reflects the values of our community and the future we want to create.

Elevating local intiatives

We support local nonprofits and charities within the community to raise awareness and champion these amazing causes. With help from our amazing customers, we have been able to support our local Food Bank, the Illecillewaet Greenbelt Society, and Revelstoke Unstuck—a volunteer group that offers assistance to members of the community who might otherwise have difficulty managing snow removal and other winter tasks. If you’re passionate about supporting community-based projects, we invite you to join us in creating lasting, positive change.
